TAMPA, Fla.—The seventh-ranked Barry University Buccaneers played to a 1-1 draw against the Tampa Spartans at Pepin Field on Saturday night.
After a scoreless first period, the Bucs (9-2-1, 5-1-1 SSC) struck first on a goal by Lavinia Nkomo just 0:33 seconds into the second half.
Tampa (8-2-3, 4-1-1 SSC) got the equalizer in the 54th minute as Lauren Moore scored.
Neither team could break through in the extra periods. The Bucs held a sizeable 23-12 edge in shots, including 11-4 on goal. Paula Forero had three saves for the Bucs, while Caroline Frykgard had 10 for the Spartans.
The Bucs play their final three games this season at home, starting with Nova Southeastern on Wednesday, Oct. 21 at 7:00 pm.
