BOCA RATON, Fla. – Barry University women's basketball team lost at Lynn, 66-45, Wednesday night in the de Hoernle Center.

The Buccaneers fell to 9-8 overall, 1-5 in the Sunshine State Conference. Lynn improved to 7-8, 1-5.

Barry fell behind by 10 midway through the second half before Amra Elezovic hit a driving layup with 9:46 remaining to cut it to 39-31. But Lynn outscored the Bucs, 19-8, over the next 7:33 to take a commanding 58-39 lead.

Bucs senior forward Kaylia Richardson scored eight of her 16 points in the first half. She went 8 of 12 from the floor, and finished with five rebounds and three blocks.

Barry shot 37.5 percent from the floor, making 18 of 48 field goals. The Fighting Knights were 23 of 63 for 36.5 percent. The Buccaneers were three of 16 from three-point range. Lynn went five of 11. Barry committed 28 turnovers, while Lynn had 18.

Toni Nielber had nine points, and Jackie Perez scored eight points, had five assists, five rebounds, two steals and a block for the Bucs. Lynae Richardson grabbed a team-high eight rebounds, and had three steals.

Barry will play at Eckerd 2 p.m. Saturday.
