MELBOURNE, Fla.—The fourth-ranked Barry University women's tennis team downed the second-ranked NAIA Auburn-Montgomery Lady Senators 8-1 on Thursday afternoon.
In doubles action, the Bucs took one win at the top spot where the fourth-ranked team of
Barbi Pocza and
Angie Werschel defeated #4 Ana Veselinovic and Morgane Zowczak 8-6.
The Bucs dropped the second flight of doubles, where Kveta Hajkova and Alina Tseplukhova beat
Laura Boguet and
Alex Gwizdowski 8-2. The Bucs won the third flight by default.
In singles action, #14 Pocza downed #3 Ana Veselinovic 6-2, 6-3. In the second flight, #23
Angie Werschel beat #26 Morgane Zowczak 7-6 (7-2), 6-4. At #3, #38
Caroline Wendling defeated #27 Kveta Hajkova 6-1, 6-3. At No. 4 singles,
Olivia Matuszak beat #15 Alina Tseplukhova 6-3, 6-3. The Senators defaulted in the final two flights.
