Box Score GOLDEN, Colo.—The Barry Buccaneers fell 56-49 to the Regis Rangers in the first game of the Regis Thanksgiving Classic hosted by Colorado-Mines at Lockridge Arena on Friday.
The Bucs (1-3) trailed 40-37 with 11:24 left in the second period after a Colette Eule three-pointer. But the Rangers (2-3) responded with an 11-4 run over the next 4:18 to take a 10-point lead. The Bucs closed to four points, 51-47 on a layup by Alexandria Zamora with 3:49 remaining, but Regis pushed the lead back to nine points before settling for the seven point win.
Yvonne Houston had 14 points to lead the Bucs. Tae’lor Purdy led the Rangers with 17 points and nine rebounds, as Regis held a 45-39 edge on the boards. Sarah Feeney chipped in 13 for the Rangers.
The Bucs play the host Orediggers on Saturday at 5:00 pm Eastern time.
