ORLANDO—The Barry University rowing team’s varsity 8 have been named Sunshine State Conference Boat of the Week for the period ending March 1.

 

 The Buccaneer crew began its spring season in fine fashion, coasting to a first-place finish at the Stetson Sprints.  The Bucs completed the race in a time of 7:30.3 to beat crews from Florida, Florida State, Stetson, and Tampa. 

 

Manning the boat were cox Gracie Horowitz (Chicago, Ill.), Brianne Misner (Hamilton, Ontario), Kelly Harrison (Fairfax, Va.), Katie Rodgers (New Bedford, Mass.), Jamiee Lampard (Wellington, New Zealand), Nicki Marek (Chicago, Ill.), Renee Forcier (New London, N.H.), Courtney Greene (Miami, Fla.) and Summerlin Knipe (Sheffield, Mass.).

 

The Bucs return to action on Friday, March 19 at the Canal 54 Duels.
