TAMPA, Fla. – The Barry softball team (13-8, 0-3 SSC) lost another game 1-0 to the Tampa Spartans in Sunshine State Conference action on Monday afternoon at the UT Softball Complex.
The Buccaneers and Spartans (8-10, 4-2 SSC) were locked in a scoreless tie until the bottom of the seventh inning when Michele Horan's RBI double plated Jessica Keefe to win the game.
Amber Jack (7-5) suffered the loss for the Bucs, pitching 6.2 innings and allowing six hits and one run. Tampa's Devlin Dougherty (3-4) picked up the win, pitching six innings and giving up four hits and three walks.
The Buccaneers next attend the 2007 College Softball Fun in the Sun Tournament March 9-11 and face off on Friday against Ohio Valley at 11:00 am followed by Carson Newman at 1:00 pm.
