MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—The Barry Buccaneers ran their win streak to 13 straight games by beating the Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish 5-0 and 7-0 in softball action at Buccaneer Field on Wednesday night.
In the opener,
Liz Bennett (10-1) tossed a one-hit shutout, walking three and striking out a career-high 14 batters.
Shyla Rider provided the offense going two-for-three with an RBI and scoring two runs.
In the nightcap,
Amber Jack (15-5) recorded her seventh shutout, giving up just three hits and striking out three. She also blasted her first career homer, a two-run shot in the first, and drove in three runs. Rider and
Holli Davis joined Jack with two hits. Davis stole two bases and scored twice.
The Bucs improve to 26-8, while the Sailfish fall to 13-24. The Bucs travel to Boca Raton, Fla., on the weekend for a three-game Sunshine State Conference series against the Lynn Fighting Knights.
