MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—
Gabriel Casanova had three hits, including a homer and a double, driving in four runs as the Barry Buccaneers beat the Adelphi Panthers 13-6 at Feinbloom Field on Thursday night.
The Panthers (1-5) jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning as Tom Cali and Doug Anderson both walked and scored.
But the Buccaneers (18-7) answered back with six runs in the bottom of the inning. Casanova had an RBI double and
Brett Rossi added a two-run single.
Cesar Aranguren also drove in a run, giving him 40 for the season for the fourth time in his career.
The Bucs added four runs in the second inning on only two hits, Casanova's homer and a
Bobby Hartney double, as they took advantage of two Panther errors.
Bobby Riley (3-0) picked up his third straight win, tossing five innings. He allowed three runs on three hits and three walks, striking out four. Chris Zinkiewicz (0-1) took the loss for Adelphi. In one inning, he allowed eight runs (one earned) on four hits and a walk with one strikeout.
The Buccaneers travel to Tampa to face off against the Spartans in a Sunshine State Conference series Friday and Saturday.
