MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—The Barry Buccaneers shot down the Mercy Flyers 20-1 in baseball action at Feinbloom Field Wednesday afternoon.
Jayson Brown (1-2) allowed one run on just two hits in five innings, with five strikeouts to pick up his first win. Roberto Hilario (0-1), making his first start for the Flyers (0-4), was shelled for eight runs on eight hits, walked two and struck out one to take the loss.
Naber, Fraginals,
Jerry Thornton and
Orlando Alvarez each rapped out three hits as every starter scored at least one run and eight of nine drove in at least one. Thornton and Alvarez each had two doubles. Thornton, Aranguren and Fraginals each had three RBI.
The Bucs will face the Wheeling Jesuit Cardinals on Monday, Feb. 27 at 5:00 pm as Barry continues a 17-game homestand over 24 days.
