MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—The 29th-ranked Barry Buccaneers were shutout by the 37th-ranked Tusculum Pioneers 6-0 at the Feinbloom Field on Saturday.
Greg Dicso (0-1) held the Pioneers hitless into the seventh inning, but three walks and five errors helped Tusculum to a 4-0 when he left the game. The Pioneers finally broke through on the hit column with four hits over the final 1.2 innings off relievers
Eric Horstmann and
Robert Medio.
Meanwhile, the Bucs, who averaged 11 hits per game over the first two contests, managed only four singles off Tusculum starter Brent Gables (1-0) who tossed the complete-game shutout.
Barry falls to 2-1, while Tusculum improves to 2-0. The Bucs will face the Lynn Knights, 10-2 winners over Mars Hill earlier in the day, at 6:00 pm.
