Box Score MIAMI SHORES, Fla.--The Barry Soccer teams split the 2003 "Battle of the Bucs" with Christian Brothers, dropping the women's game 3-2 in double overtime but rebounding to take the men's game 2-1.

The women led 1-0 and 2-1 after goals by Emelie Karlsson and Mairead McLaughlin. But Christian Brothers (4-0-0), who earlier had missed a penalty kick, converted one at 82:40 by Veronica Botold to knot the game at 2-2.

Stacy-Jo Flecther stole the ball in the box from a defender and scored the game-winner with 5:22 left in the final overtime period.

Johanna Fischer made seven saves for Barry (4-3-2). Jennifer Kett stopped six shots for CBU.

In the men's game, Christian Brothers (1-4-0) jumped on top early with a goal from Mike Vogel at 16:53. They carried the lead into the half.

But Barry (4-2-2) came out in the second half with a stiffened resolve. Mike Lupton converted a penalty kick at 57:16 after Emilio Martinez was fouled in the box by CBU's Ross McLynn. McLynn received a red card on the play and left CBU down a man.

Before the visitors could regain their composure, Lupton struck again, this time with an assist from Thiago Vasconcelos at 59:09.

The team's traded red cards down the stretch, with CBU's Jimmy Drain and Barry's Lupton being sent off, but neither could score again.
