Box Score MIAMI SHORES, Fla.--
Alen Marcina and the Barry men's soccer team sunk the Rollins College Tars 3-0 at Buccaneer Field Saturday night.
Marcina scored twice and
Damian Bardoni added a late goal for the Bucs as they began Sunshine State Conference play with the win.
Marcina struck at 34:19 of the first half when
Chi Chi Soler fed a ball through the middle and caught Marcina running in stride from about six yards out. Marcina added his second goal at the 57:30 mark on a similar feed from
Emilio Martinez.
Bardoni closed the scoring at the 73:31 mark when Martinez played another ball through the middle to
Mike Lupton who blasted a shot off Rollins keeper Justin Corrado. Bardoni scooped up the rebound and found the back of the net.
Ron Goguen posted his fifth shutout of the season for Barry (7-0-1, 1-0-0 SSC), making five saves. Corrado had four saves for the Tars (5-3-1, 0-1-0 SSC).
Barry travels to Saint Leo on Friday, Oct. 4 and across town to Florida International on Oct. 6 before returning to Buccaneer Field on Oct. 9 at 7:00 pm against defending national champs Tampa.
