Box Score MONTEVALLO, Ala.--The Barry men's soccer team grounded the Montevallo Falcons 3-0 in NCAA Division II South Region action on Sunday at Montevallo's Intramural Field. The Bucs' Israeli connection,
Dan Levy and
Avi Scabini, combined for a goal and two assists to lead Barry to the win.
Levy rifled in a free kick from 21 yards out at the 23:29 mark of the first half for the game-winner.
The Falcons played the final 71 minutes short a man after David Minchella was given a red card for a vicious tackle on Barry's Justin Latapy. Latapy was able to finish the game.
In the second half, it was all Barry as the Falcons wore down.
Emilio Martinez blasted home a goal from just outside the 18 after a corner kick by Scabini in the 50th minute.
Damian Bardoni capped the scoring just five minutes later after Martinez and Scabini worked the ball up the middle and fed Bardoni in the box.
Ron Goguen made one save to extend the Bucs shutout streak to two games to start the season and six games overall, dating back to last year.
The Bucs host the St. Thomas Bobcats on Thursday, September 5 in their home opener at 7:00 pm.
