Women's Basketball Falls to Knights

Box Score BOCA RATON, Fla. -- The Barry University women's basketball team fell to the Lynn Fighting Knights 67-49 at the de Hoernle Center Wednesday night.

In the first half, neither team could muster much offense with both teams shooting less than 25 percent from the field. However, the Knights managed to carry a 24-16 lead into the half.

The Knights carried the load in the second half scoring 43 points including six three-pointers to secure the win over the Bucs 67-49.

The Buccaneers were led by Sanja Zivanovic who scored 11 points, while Loren Weaver added 10.

Michelle Newman paced the Knights with 21 points and 11 rebounds, including a 13-for-14 performance at the charity stripe. Kerri Rullison added 20 points and 12 rebounds, while Gabriella Gonda added 15.

The Buccaneers fall to 12-11 and 6-5 in the Sunshine State Conference, while the Knights improve to 13-10 and 5-6 in the SSC.

The Buccaneers will return to action on Feb. 16 traveling to Saint Leo, Fla. for an SSC match-up with the Lions at 2:00 p.m.
