Box Score MIAMI SHORES, Fla.--The Barry Buccaneers tipped off the 2002-03 season with a 60-33 win over the Florida Memorial Lady Lions in women's basketball action in the Health & Sports Center Saturday afternoon.

The Bucs (1-0) overcame a sluggish first half to slay the Lions witdominantnent performance in the second half. The Bucs did it with some blistering shootihittingtign 57.7 percent from the floor and 80.0 percent from the line in the second period.

Candace Blackbird paced a balanced Buccaneer attack with 14 points and Sanja Zivanovic added 10 points. Freshman Polona Oberc came off the bench to contribute 11 points, five rebounds, five assists and three steals. Katrischa Stevens led the Lions (3-1) with 11 points.

The Bucs return to action on Tuesday night, hosting the Nova Southeastern Knights at 7:30 pm.
