Men's Soccer Loses to Florida International

Box Score MIAMI, Fla.--The NCAA Division I Florida International Golden Panthers clubbed the Barry men's soccer team 2-0 at University Park Sunday night.

The Golden Panthers broke the scoring ice just :13 seconds before the end of the first half. Oscar Gill crossed the ball from the left wing to Matias Asorey at the top of the 18-yard box. Asorey was able to turn and blast home the opening score.

The second half belonged completely to the Panthers as they held a 13-1 advantage in shots in the frame. Oscar Gill knocked in an insurance goal at the 84:35 mark when Ron Goguen failed to effectively clear the ball.

Ron Goguen had an outstanding game in the net for the Bucs, making a career-high nine saves. Roy Rosenburg had one save for the Panthers.

Barry drops to 8-1-1 and returns home on Wednesday, October 9 to face defending national champions Tampa. Florida International improves to 5-4-0 with their fifth straight win.
