Box Score MELBOURNE, Fla.--The Barry men's soccer team clipped the Florida Tech Panthers 2-0 at FIT's Stottler Field Tuesday night.
Alen Marcina knocked in the game-winner just 12:53 into the game.
Mike Lupton crossed the ball into the penalty box and Marcina gathered it in and slipped a shot past the Panthers' Derek McElwee.
Lupton scored a goal of his own six minutes later when the Panthers were whistled for a foul in the box. Lupton converted the penalty and the Bucs led 2-0.
Despite numerous chances, the Bucs could not put another score in against the scrappy Panthers. McElwee made several brilliant saves, ending the evening with seven. Barry's
Ron Goguen had three saves to record his eighth shutout of the season.
The win clinches the Bucs' second Sunshine State Conference championship in the last three years. Barry (12-1-1, 6-0-0 SSC) is off until November 2 when they host Lewis University at 7:00 pm in the final home game of the regular season.
