Box Score MIAMI SHORES, Fla.--The Barry men's soccer team nipped the Florida Southern Moccasins 1-0 in double overtime at Buccaneer Field Saturday night.
Avi Scabini pushed the ball up the middle to
Alen Marcina who flicked it over to
Andres Lozano on the right wing. Lozano's shot to the far post skipped past Moc keeper Oscar Gullbrandsson for the game winner.
The teams battled scoreless through the first three periods, but both teams had their chances. Barry hit the post twice and Florida Southern missed a one-on-one opportunity in the second half.
Barry's
Ron Goguen made two saves to earn his seventh shutout of the season. Gullbrandsson had three saves for the Mocs.
Barry improves to 11-1-1, 5-0-0 in the Sunshine State Conference while the Mocs fall to 7-6-0, 0-3-0 in the conference.
The game is the seventh straight in the series which has been decided by one goal or gone to overtime.
