Box Score MIAMI SHORES, Fla.--In round two of the "Battle of the Bucs," Barry and Christian Brothers tied 2-2 in men's soccer action at Buccaneer Field Friday night.
Christian Brothers scored the games first goal at the 17:24 mark when Ian Ford collected a clearance pass near the top of the 18-yard box and sent a rocket into the top right corner. The score remained 1-0 at the half.
In the second half, Barry mounted a furious attack and CBU defender Ross McLynn, in an attempt to clear the ball, headed it into his own goal to tie the game 1-1 at the 48:01 mark.
Barry went up 2-1 just two minutes later as
Mike Lupton passed to
Fitzgerald Clarke on the right side and Clarke beat CBU keeper Jake Aycock for the score.
Christian Brothers tied the game again at the 65:17 mark on a similar play. Tim Arnebold passed the ball up to Barry Gibney who slid a shot past Barry keeper Willie Leiste.
Aycock made nine saves as Barry held a 23-12 margin in shots. Leiste had three saves.
Barry is now 6-0-1, while Christian Brothers is 4-0-1.
