Box Score LAKE WORTH, Fla. -- The Barry University women's Basketball team tamed the Florida Memorial Lions 53-43 at the Missouri Western Holiday Classic hosted at Palm Beach Community College.
The Buccaneers started out on a roll, going on a 16-4 run to open the game and held on for a 25-10 halftime lead.
In the second half, the Buccaneers allowed the Lions 33 points, but it just wasn't enough as the Bucs went on to claim the victory 53-43.
Posting career-high numbers in rebounds, Jaida Williams led the Buccaneer winning charge with 18 points and a 25 rebounds. Amra Alagic followed with 10 points and 10 boards.
The Lions were led by Nicolene Johnson's game-high 22 points.
The Bucs also held the Lions to shooting only 19 percent from the field for the game.
The Buccaneers improved to 4-5 overall while the Lions fell to 1-7. The Bucs will return to action on Saturday, Sept. 16 at 2:00 p.m. playing host Missouri Western.
