Box Score WINTER PARK, Fla.--The Barry University men's soccer team breezed past the Rollins College Tars 3-0 at Sandspur Field Saturday night.
Alen Marcina scored two goals and Thiago Vascolcelos added the game-winner as the Buccaneers improved to 14-1-3, 5-1-1 in the Sunshine State Conference.
The Buccaneers held a 29-9 advantage in shots over the Tars (10-7-1, 2-4-1 SSC).
Vasconcelos got the Bucs on the scoreboard early in the first period when
Mike Lupton and
Marco Velez combined for an assist off a corner kick a the 12:38 mark.
Marcina scored his first goal at the 38:07 mark. Lupton chipped the ball into the box and Marcina ran on to slot it past the Tars' keeper.
Marcina closed out the scoring at the 77:18 mark.
Jericho Hartley won the ball in the midfield and passed up to Carlos Palaez who found Marcina free in the box.
Ron Goguen recorded his fourth straight shutout for Barry, making three saves. Justin Corrado had nine saves for the Tars.
