Box Score MIAMI, Fla.--The Barry University women's soccer team closed out the regular season with a 6-0 whipping of St. Thomas Wednesday afternoon at Bobcat Field.
Kirsten Buteau scored twice and
Ashley Snell added a goal and two assists to pace the Buccaneers' attack. Pam McDonald,
Tammie Thornton and
Amy Tewis also added goals, while Charlene Hillebrand,
Britt Miazgowicz,
Kassy Slattery and
Sarah Johnson had assists.
The two assists for Snell give her 36 for her career, tying the school record set by Erin Jaeger (1992-95) and
Jenny Nilsson (1998-2000).
Johanna Fischer stopped one shot to record her eighth shutout of the season for Barry. Monica Lovett had seven saves, but allowed five goals, while Maria Zapata allowed one goal and made two saves for St. Thomas.
The Buccaneers (15-3-0) now await word from the NCAA, which releases post-season bids on Sunday, Nov. 4. St. Thomas finishes the season 7-6-3.
