Box Score MIAMI SHORES, Fla.--The Barry men's soccer team celebrated Senior Night with a 3-0 win over the Eckerd Tritons at Buccaneer Field Saturday night.
Juniors
Alen Marcina and
Marco Velez made sure the night would be cheerful by scoring within :16 seconds of each other in the first half. Seniors
Ben Cooper and
James Ryan combined to work the ball inside to Marcina at the top of the six and he finished past Triton keeper Stephen Jaeger at the 18:59 mark.
Velez added his goal, unassisted, just :16 seconds later when the Tritons were unable to clear a ball in the box.
The seniors teamed up to score the third goal with Ryan scoring off a throw in from Cooper at the 29:50 mark.
Kyle Craig, who relieved Jaeger, made three saves for the Tritons. Jaeger had three in the first half.
Ron Goguen stopped the only shot the Tritons took to earn his fourth shutout of the year and second in a row.
Barry improves to 12-1-3, 4-1-1 in the SSC. Eckerd falls to 3-11-1, 1-5-0 in the conference.
