Box Score MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Barry University volleyball team defended their home court earlier this afternoon fending off the Florida Tech Panthers 3-0 in Sunshine State Conference play.
Stretching their home court wins to nine, the Buccaneers edged the Panthers 30-28, 30-21, and 32-30.
Simone Ferrarezi (Jr., OH, Sao Paulo, Brazil) led the Buccaneers with 18 kills on 36 attempts.
Fernanda Ferreira (So., MH, Sao Paulo, Brazil) notched a team high .407 attack percentage on 14 kills and 27 attack attempts while
Karla Bersano (So., OH, Sao Paulo, Brazil)added 15 kills and a team high 10 digs.
Alys Thomas paced the Panthers with 14 kills on 33 attempts and a .242 attack percentage.
The Buccaneers improved to 19-2 and 6-1 in the SSC while stretching their current winning streak to eight games and their home win streak to nine games on the season. The Panthers fell to 15-11, 4-3 SSC.
The Buccaneers will return to action traveling to cross-town rival St. Thomas University on Wednesday, October 24th at 7:30 p.m.
