Dylan Buxbaum joined the strength & conditioning staff in the Summer of 2026 as an assistant strength & conditioning coach. In his new role, he looks to improve the performance of the Buccaneer athletes by building upon the main qualities which drive performance: speed, power, strength, and movement quality. His training approach involves building upon each aspect at all times of the year, but emphasizing the most important ones during different seasons. He also strives to ensure the athletes can stay healthy by always adjusting intensity and volume to allow for sufficient recovery, as well as tracking key performance metrics that indicate athlete readiness and performance.Â
Prior to Barry University, Buxbaum was a graduate assistant strength & conditioning coach at Nova Southeastern University for the 2025-2026 academic year. At NSU, he earned his Master of Science in sports science and led all aspects of programming and training for the women’s soccer, women’s tennis, and baseball team. His contributions helped them achieve some of their best seasons in program history. The women’s tennis team went on to win the DII National Championship after finishing tied for third in the Sunshine State Conference. The women’s soccer team won their first SSC conference championship in program history with zero losses in the regular season, and the baseball team had their first 30+ win season since 2019.Â
Prior to the GA position, Buxbaum worked as a personal trainer at BioCore Sports Performance in Davie, Fla. At BioCore, he led personal, group, and team training sessions for various levels of athletes and general population clients. He trained athletes from the youth level all the way up to professional, and he trained multiple high school teams, including Marjory Stoneman Douglas’ baseball team, Chaminade Madonna’s baseball team, and Chaminade Madonna’s softball team.Â
Buxbaum also earned his Bachelor of Science in exercise & sports science at NSU in 2024. During his time as an undergraduate student, he also gained experience in the rehabilitation setting as a physical therapy technician at Matthew Donner Physical Therapy from 2022-2024. He gained experience working with NFL Combine athletes in 2024, as he participated in an independent study that examined inter-limb asymmetries during the eccentric phase of a jump and how it affects performance. He also gained experience collecting performance data using VALD force plates during the independent study.Â
Buxbaum grew up in Davie, Fla., and attended St. Thomas Aquinas High, where he played four years of basketball. Dylan also grew up playing baseball, and he comes from a baseball family. His dad, Danny, played college baseball at the University of Miami and professional baseball in the Los Angeles Angels organization. His older brother, Jake, played college baseball at Lynn University. His youngest brother, Brady, is committed to play baseball at the University of South Florida.Â
Dylan’s certifications include CSCS (Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist) and CPR/AED.Â
