Laura Theus

Laura Theus was named a volunteer assistant coach in January 2017.

Theus assists the Buccaneers with on-court coaching and player development. She has worked tennis clinics, instructing younger players.

A four-year player at Idaho State University, Theus played No. 1 doubles her first three years with the Bengals. She played at Nos. 4-6 singles during her career. In 2014, she went 7-6 overall, 4-2 in the Big Sky Conference, winning her final five matches of the season.

A native of Berlin, Germany, Theus was a four-time All-Big Sky All-Academic Team selection. She also won multiple Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic honors while playing at Idaho State. Theus carried a 3.91 grade point average as an undergraduate student. While at Idaho State, she conducted independent research on the predictors of continuing athletic participation, presented on the topic at the 86th annual Rocky Mountain Psychological Association Conference in Denver in April 2016. She won a Psi Chi RMPA Regional student research award in April 2016. She was also a member of the National Honor Society in Psychology Psi Chi.

Theus earned a bachelor's degree from Idaho State in May 2016 in pschology while minoring in business and sport management. She is pursuing a masters degree in psychology and business at Barry.
