SENIOR (2010-11): Played most of the season at the No. 2 spot for the Buccaneers, and was an excellent doubles player finishing with an 18-6 overall doubles record…Teamed up with Barbi Pocza at No. 1 doubles in the National Championship match winning 8-6…Was named to the First Team All-SSC doubles…Finished the year ranked No. 36 in the nation for singles and No.4 for doubles.

 

SENIOR (FALL 2010): Claimed the USTA/ITA Women’s Tennis South Regional doubles championship with partner Barbi Pocza with a win over Lynn’s Maggie Ekert and Isabelli Raich … The pair finished 4th at the USTA/ITA Small College Nationals ... Went 2-1 in singles at the USTA/ITA regional … Captured the A championship in doubles with Pocza at the FGCU Fall Classic … Went 3-0 in singles to cruise to the championship in the B flight at the FGCU Fall Classic.

JUNIOR (2009-2010): In the spring posted a 17-3 record playing primarily from the number two spot … Posted a perfect 7-0 mark against SSC opponents … Won ten straight from March 20 through the end of the season … Earned wins against five ranked players … Posted a 20-8 doubles mark primarily with partner Mia Fiocca number two … Earned ITA All-America honors and All-SSC First Team in singles … Member of the SSC Commissioner’s Spring Honor Roll and the Spring 2010 Dean’s List … In the fall played in the quarterfinals in the singles gold flight of the 2009 ERAU Open and lost to the #1 seed Senka Softic from Florida Southern … Posted four singles wins in the ITA South Region Championship to advance to the semifinals … Collected a spot in the quarterfinals in doubles at the ITA Regional with partner Caroline Wendling … Entered the spring season with a #10 national ranking … Member of the Fall 2009 Dean’s List.

SOPHOMORE (2008-09): In the spring, collected a 15-4 singles record from the #1 position … Posted singles wins over the #6 ranked player Eleonora Lannozzi from Lynn and the #9 ranked player Roshni Luthra from Rollins … Totaled a 15-9 doubles record paired mostly with teammate Yulia Kashelkina … Assembled wins over the #23 nationally ranked doubles team of Senka Softic and Ashley Hungerford from Florida Southern and the #22 team of Margaret Junker and Kayli Ragsdale from Rollins … Named to the ITA All-American team, second team All-SSC, and SSC honorable mention in doubles with Kashelkina … Earned a spot on the SSC Commissioner’s Spring Honor Roll and the Barry University Dean’s List … In the fall, advanced to the semifinal of the CL Varner Memorial Invitational by knocking off top seed Jenny Frisell from Central Florida … Finished third at the College of Charleston Invitational … Posted a 4-3 singles record and a 3-3 doubles record.

FRESHMAN (2007-08): Finished the season ranked 35th … Posted the most singles wins of any Buccaneer during the season going 17-5 … Played mostly from the number three flight, but went 4-0 from the number one and two spots … Went 18-10 in doubles with four different partners … Beat the 19th-ranked team of Ekert and Jiskrova 9-7 from Lynn on April 4 with partner Helen Wisniewski … Named to SSC Spring Commissioner’s Honor Roll … In the fall, was defeated in a tight quarterfinal singles match against Florida Southern’s Senka Softic in the ITA Regional … Advanced to the doubles semifinals with teammate Csordas.

HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB: Was the Bavarian Champion in singles and doubles … Munich Champion for several years … Ranked #1 in Munich and in the Top-Five in Bavaria for her age group … Named to the Top 80 players in Germany for 2006.

PERSONAL: Daughter of Hartmut and Renate Werschel ... Has one brother Roman, a member of Barry’s men’s tennis team in 2009 ... Majoring in sport management.
