Meagan Maxwell became the first assistant coach for the Buccaneers' fledgling women's lacrosse program in the summer of 2026
Maxwell comes to The Shores with experience as the travel coordinator for True Lacrosse, where she manages end-to-end travel operations across 26 U.S. markets, coordinating flights, lodging, and ground transportation. She also served as assistant coach at Apex Freindship High in Apex, N.C.
She served as an assistant coach at her alma mater, Mount Olive, in the 2024 and 2025 seasons. She helped the Trojans to a 27-11 mark over two seasons, including a 16-3 campaign in 2024 that included a Conference Carolinas championship. She Supported the development and implementation of offensive systems tailored to personnel and game situations and assisted in scouting opponents and refining game plans using film analysis and performance data.
At the same time, she was the head coach for the AFA Lacrosse Club in Apex, directing training sessions emphasizing skill development, team systems, and athletic performance and implementing innovative coaching strategies to maximize individual development and team success.
Maxwell played four years of lacrosse in college, the first two years at Lake Erie in Ohio and the final two at Moount Olive. In 70 career games, she socred 96 goals and added 142 assists. She was a three-time all-conference pick, including a first-team selection for Conference Carolinas in 2022. She led her teams to conference titles in 2018, 2022 and 2023 and was selected to the IWLCA Senior All-Star game in 2023.
She graduated with her bachelor's degree in marketing and business administration from Lake Erie in 2021 and earned her MBA from Mount Olive in 2023.
