Steven Paisley was named a volunteer assistant coach for Barry University women’s basketball team in July 2018 after serving two years as a head coach at his alma mater, Ronald Reagan Senior High.
Paisley served the past four years coaching at his alma mater, Ronald Reagan Senior High, including two as boy's junior varsity assistant and two as head coach of the girls. The 2017-2018 season saw Paisley lead the varsity women basketball team all the way to the district semi-finals. In a season began with only two players, Paisley grew the team to a 25-player roster.
The previous season, 2016-2017, Paisley was the junior varsity men’s basketball head coach. Previously, Paisley spent his first two years of his career coaching as the junior varsity men’s basketball assistant coach. He also assisted the women’s basketball program during that time through practices, teaching basketball fundamentals and technique.
Paisley also spent the 2017-2018 season as a head coach in the Doral Basketball Youth League, coaching ages 13-15.
Paisley, a 2010 graduate from Ronald Reagan Senior High, played high school basketball as a small forward.
Paisley graduated in 2014 from Florida International University, receiving his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice.
Paisley’s childhood consisted of many relocations due to his Father’s United States Air Force career. Paisley was born in the Royal Air Force Base Lakenheath, United Kingdom and then moved to Madrid, Spain; Cheyenne, Wyoming; Yigo, Guam; Tacoma, Washington and now Miami, Florida. Paisley has been living in Miami, Florida for the past 11 years. He is an avid Spurs fan, Denver Broncos fan and coaches quidditch in his spare time, having made it to the world cup for Quidditch for the Spanish National Team in Frankfurt, Germany as a beater.
