Former Buccaneer star Shanna Suttington begins her third year on the coaching staff this season after an outstanding playing career.

A four-year letterwinner from 2008-2012, Suttington ranks in the top 10 in 14 career categories, including first in three-point field goal attemps (511), second in made three-pointers (149), third in assists (337), fifth in both games played (112) and games started (85), sixth in steals (163) and seventh in scoring (952).

She helped lead the Bucs to the NCAA Regional Tournament as a sophomore in 2009-10, averaging 9.0 points per game and shooting 80.6 percent from the free throw line. The Bucs also reached the finals of the Sunshine State Conference Tournament that season, for just the second time in program history.

As a senior, she helped carry the Bucs to a share of the SSC regular-season championship as they went 12-4 in conference and 18-9 overall. She averaged 9.4 points per game with career highs in assists (101) and steals (49).

In three years as a starter at the point, she led the Bucs to a 51-34 mark, including 27-21 in the SSC.

After graduating from Barry in 2011 with a degree in psychology, she played one season of professional ball with ACS Mainz in Germany.
