Eric Buckman, a elite-level clinician with over 30 years of progressive, global-minded performance medicine experience ranging from high schools to the professional ranks, joined the Buccaneer athletic training staff in the fall of 2024Â as the head athletic trainer.
Buckman brings extensive experience in in performance medicine after serving in various roles at a number of institutions and organizations over his career. After securing his bachelor's degree in athletic training and exercise science at Purdue in 1993, he served a graduate assistantship at Kentucky, earning his master's in kinesiology and health promotions in 1996.
After internships with the Dallas Cowboys of the NFL and at UCLA, he was hired as assistant athletic trainer at Princeton and went to serve at Stanford, Louisville, Emory, Taccoa Falls and South Carolina-Beaufort, as well as with Cleveland Browns, Cirque du Soleil, the Marine Corps.
Buckman holds certification from the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA), as well as National Strength & Conditioning Association and is licensed in South Carolina, Georgia and Florida. He has an endorsement from National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) in corrective exercise and performance enhancement.
