Barry University Athletics

Lance Hotchkiss was tabbed to start the Esports program at Barry University in the summer of 2019.

Hotchkiss most recently served as the Esports coach at nearby St. Thomas University in Miami Gardens, Fla. He led the Bobcats in their inaugural season, participating in local and collegiate tournaments. At St. Thomas, he led the Bobcats to the Blast Pro Series tournament in Miami. He guided the recruitment of the 2019-20 team, which will compete in League of Legends, CS:GO, OverWatch, and Rocket League.

Hotchkiss heads into his new position at Barry with six years of experience in the Esports field. He was the founder, recruiter and practice coordinator of a local League of Legends club from 2014-18. He is a three-time winner of the Miami Super Con League of Legends Tournament and has posted numerous other tournament wins sponsored by Versus Gaming and East Coast Gaming.

Hotchkiss earned his B.S. degree in computer science from Central Florida in 2012.
