MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Barry University flag football team will hold their first open tryouts Tuesday, Sept. 22 starting at 3:00 p.m. at the Bevilacqua Multi-Purpose Field. Interested Barry students should contact head coach Flip Largaespada.
FLAG FOOTBALL TRYOUTS
When: Tuesday, Sept. 22

Where: Bevilacqua Multi-Purpose Field
Tryout Requirements (must be completed by Sept. 14, 2026 prior to the tryout):
- Have a medical physical, completed on or after March 1, 2026, and SIGNED by a doctor (not nurse, nurse practitioner, PA, etc.)
- Complete & sign the tryout waiver. If under the age of 18, a parent/legal guardian signature is required.
- Must complete a sickle cell solubility test per NCAA; proof of testing should clearly state "positive" or "negative"
- The copy of the signed & dated medical physical and waiver must be received by noon on Monday, Sept. 14. You must visit the flag football office in Landon 202 to receive all forms.
- Barry flag football does NOT provide the following during the tryout: athletic apparel (i.e. shorts, t-shirts), shoes, gloves, and cleats or spikes. Interested tryout candidates are responsible for supplying these items at the tryout. Every prospective athlete should come dressed to compete.
