AUSTIN, Texas -- Barry's Adam Lynch was named the NCAA Division II Men's Tennis Academic All-America® Team Member of the Year on the 2025-26 Academic All-America® men's tennis teams selected by College Sports Communicators.
Lynch is a senior computer science major who maintained a 4.0 grade point average. It was the second time that Lynch has been named Academic All-America, earning Second-Team honors in 2024.
He was awarded the NCAA Elite Scholar Award at the 2026 NCAA Division II Men's Tennis Championship. The award recognizes student-athletes who excel in athletics and academics, granted to the individual with the highest cumulative grade point average at the championship finals site.
Lynch finished 17-1 in singles and 17-2 in doubles in dual matches this season. He secured the clinching point in the national semifinals that sent Barry to its 15th NCAA championship match with their 25th consecutive victory.
Lynch is the 26th men's tennis Buccaneer to earn Academic All-American and the second to be named team member of the year (Christian Witt, 2001). He is the first Buc since Tim Reidel won back-to-back awards in 2024 and 2025.
The six members of the first team have an average GPA of 3.98.
The Division II Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist the College Sports Communicators with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Division II Academic All-America® program.
