SURPRISE, Ariz. -- The second-ranked and top-seeded Barry Buccaneers took down the seventh-ranked and fourth-seeded Catawba Indians 4-0 in the semifinals at the 2-26 NCAA Division II Men's Tennis Championships at the Surprise Tennis & Racquet Complex on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Barry quickly won the doubles point, taking the first and third flights by identical 6-1 scores
- Second-ranked Kodjoed dispatched Passoni 6-4, 6-3 at number two.
- Azoulay, after struggling early in the first set, came back for a 7-5, 6-2 win over Inagawa at number five.
- Lynch, ranked 33rd, closed out the match by the same 7-5, 6-2 score at number three over Berne.
- The other matches went unfinished.
NOTEWORTHY:
- For Barry, it is their 15th time to advance to the NCAA finals. The 15 appearances in the championship match are an NCAA record, extending their own mark. Lander is second with eight, Valdosta State has seven, while West Florida and Hawai'i Pacific each have six.
- Barry has won seven national championships in 31 tournament appearances.
- The Bucs are currently tied for second all-time in championships with Southern Illinois-Edwardsville. (Lander - 8).
- Barry meets Flagler, who upset #1-ranked and second-seeded West Florida in the semifinals, for the championship. The Bucs are 23-1 all-time with the Saints, including 2-0 in NCAA Tournament play.
- Kodjoed, Lynch and Azoulay have combined to go 40-6 this spring with their wins today.
- Three of the Bucs' seven national titles have come in Surprise.
