ORLANDO, Fla. – Women's Tennis earned its fifth weekly honor of the year from the Sunshine State Conference, as No. 8 ranked Dana Heimen was named SSC Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the second time this year, this award is presented by Pollo Campero, for the week of April 6–12 and is awarded to her following her strong performance against No. 5 Nova Southeastern, where she helped the Bucs to a 5-2 victory over the sharks.
Heimen set the tone early in doubles, teaming up with Jenifer Anger to earn a 6-4 victory, the Bucs only win in doubles play. The senior carried that momentum into singles, where she delivered a standout performance against the nation's number one-ranked DII player, Kristyna Hranacova. The German dominated the opening set 6-1, but dropped a tightly contested second-set tiebreaker, 6(4)-7. Heimen came back in a decisive third set, battling through another tiebreaker to secure a hard-fought 7-6(5) victory.
The Bucs will be back in action Thursday, April.16th, when they will play Palm Beach Atlantic at home in their final conference match of the season.
