DAVIE, Fla. -- The Barry Buccaneers won 6-4 in a mid-week baseball match-up with the Nova Southeastern Sharks at the NSU Baseball Complex on Tuesday night.

  • B4 - The Sharks tied it with an unearned run in the bottom of the fourth on an RBI single by JC Hernandez. | Barry 1, NSU 1

  • T7 - The Bucs loaded the bases with no outs off reliever Antonio Turco-Rivas (1-2). Christian Perez walked and Delapenha and Dyson Joseph beat out infield hits. Two outs later, Jalen Smith doubled down the right field line, clearing the bases and giving the Bucs the lead for good. Smith later scored an insurance run on a wild pitch. | Barry 6, NSU 2

NOTEWORTHY:

  • Jack Ensell (2-4) worked six innings, holding the Sharks to two runs (one earned) on four hits and two walks, while striking out five to earn the win.
  • John Perozzi worked a perfect ninth for his sixth save.
  • Turco-Rivas took the loss for NSU, giving up four runs on four hits and a walk in 1.1 innings.
  • Tralongo, Delapenha and Blake Opie each had two hits for the Bucs.
  • Smith drove in three with his double, while Delapenha scored twice.
  • Stinson had two of the Sharks' five hits.
  • Barry, who won the Sunshine State Conference series two games to one over the Sharks, took the season series 3-2 with the win.

ON THE HORIZON:

The Bucs are off this weekend with a conference bye, but return to action at home on Apr. 24-25 against the Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish.
