WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – The start of new season began for the Barry Beach Volleyball team who has a new leader at the helm. Coach Vanessa Phyakeo led the team to a victory in their second match against NAIA powerhouse Webber International, 3-2. It was the first win against the Warriors in program history. Prior to that match, Barry fell to Palm Beach Atlantic 5-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED (PBA):
- Palm Beach Atlantic swept all five matches and did not drop a set.
- The Sailfish have won 29 of 30 sets played against Barry overall.
- Four Buccaneers made their debut with Bardagi, Santory, Custodio, and Hanner.
- It was the first time a pair of sisters played together for the Bucs as Danielle and Alexis Hansen teamed up in the four pairing.

HOW IT HAPPENED (WIU):
- Webber took the first game on court two, but the Bucs quickly tied it up with Marquez and Santory picking up the win on court four.
- The Warriors regained the lead taking the top flight to make it 2-1.
- Rangel and Madrigal tied the match up with a win on court three forcing a winner take all match on court five.
- The Hansen twins worked their way from down a set to come back and win on court five and clinch the match for Barry.
- This is the first time in program history the Buccaneers take down Webber International.

The Bucs will head up to Leesburg on February 14 to take on Webber International and Lake Sumpter.
