MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Barry University men's tennis team played their third conference match of the season this Saturday, Feb. 28th and defeated the #15 ranked Saint Leo Lions 5-2 at the University Tennis Center. This win marks a perfect 9-0 start for Bucs and a 3-0 record in the conference.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Bucs took the doubles point with a straight 3-0 sweep, including an upset with Trione and Cavalleri defeating the number three ranked double team of Segovia and Kato.
- Barry began singles up 1-0.
- The Lions even out the score 1-1 after Chapius was defeated by Kato at number four 6-3, 6-1.
- Dillon gave the lead back to Barry after a dominating win on court six, 6-3, 6-3 over Buchard.
- Azoulay gave the Bucs another point over the Lions after a fierce three-set match at number five, putting the Bucs one point away from clinching the match with a 6-1, 2-6, 6-1 win over Mekela.
- Lynch clinched the match for Barry on court three in the second third-set match of the day, besting Cohen 6-4, 5-7, 6-3, giving Barry the win.
- Kodjoed then gave the Bucs their fifth point of the match after defeating Andrianaly in the another three-set match, 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 over Andrianaly.
- The Lions got their final point in the last match at number two where Trione fell to #39 ranked Segovia in the final three-set match of the day, 4-6, 6-3, 6-3.
NOTEWORTHY:
- The Bucs haven't lost to the Lions since the 2024 season.
- Kodjoed in on a six-match win streak and is 6-1 for the season.
