ORLANDO, Fla.- Barry University men's tennis has earned their first Sunshine State Conference weekly honor of the 2026 season, as senior Thomas Machado brought home the honor presented by Pollo Campreo for the week of February 9th - February 15th. for his performance at the ITA Indoor Championship where he helped the Bucs earn their first ITA Indoor Championship win since the 2022 season. 

In the first day of the tournament Machado helped the Bucs get two crucial points with the first point coming after helping his doubles partner Adam Lynch win their match 6-4, the second point came when he won his singles match 6-4, 6-3. On the second day of the tournament Machdo once again helped Barry with getting their first point in the doubles match 6-1, and then went on to defeat the #36 ranked player Benjamin Fock 6-3, 6-3. On the final day of the tournament against #6 ranked West Florida the Senior helped get another doubles point with his duo and then moved to the singles where he took the win against the #19th ranked player Sabio Rafael 6-4, 6-3.

The Bucs will host FNU at home on Tuesday Feb. 16th at 1:00pm.
