MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Barry Buccaneers got back on the right side with an 83-77 win over the Saint Leo Lions in Sunshine State Conference women's basketball action at the Health & Sports Center on Saturday.

- 2Q - Barry went up by 21, their largest lead of the half on a basket from Paola Pareja Xargayo to start the frame. Saint Leo came back with a 12-2 run over the next 3:39 to cut the lead to 11. - 4Q - Barry pushed back ouot in front, taking a 14-point edge, 77-63, on a three-pointer from Kornleia Ignerska with 5:17 to play. Although that would be the last field goal for the Bucs, and the Lions trimmed the lead to only three with :29 seconds left, Barry hit 5-of-6 from the free throw line down the stretch to secure the win. | Barry 83, SLU 77
NOTEWORTHY:
- Pareja Xargayo led the way for Barry with a season-high 20 points.
- Jazz Cook added 17 points and nine rebounds, while Parker had 14 and Jameria Robinson added 10.
- Zoe O'Leary led Saint Leo with 19 points and Jocelyn Gagnon chipped in 14.
- Although the Bucs turned the ball over 20 times, to 22 for the Lions, Barry led 30-16 in points off turnovers.
- The Bucs got 48 of their 83 points in the paint.
