MIAMI SHORES, Fla. - The Barry University women's lacrosse team announces their 2027 season schedule. This historic journey that these new faces that'll now be representing the Bucs embark on new journey that'll consist of a total of 11 games at home from Buccaneer Field while playing four games on the road.
"Our first spring schedule is an exciting milestone for this program. We are approaching this season with the expectation to compete and make an impact from day one," Head coach Kristin Paolini said. "This team has worked incredibly hard to establish our identity, and now we get the opportunity to put that identity on the field."
They'll waste no time diving into those home games playing in a seven game homestand from their new field that will commence on Feb. 15 as they host the Saints of D'Youville. After that the team will have 10 days to be able to regroup in preparation for the next matchup they'll have in front of them as they take on Grove City slated for Feb. 25.
After their game against Grove City, the team will be granted a much needed 11 days of downtime as the month of March will be hectic where rest will be hard to come by with the Buccaneers playing seven games. The bright side would be that the Bucs will have the home crowd in their corner for every step of the way for a vast majority of the month with five out of those seven games being played from Buccaneer Field.
They'll be playing the likes of Wheeling, Coker, Malone, and Lewis. Right after the game against Lewis, conference play will begin. The Buccaneers compete in their first-ever Sunshine State Conference matchup at home versus Palm Beach Atlantic to close out the seven game homestand on Mar. 23. The Sailfish were 0-7 in the conference last season with an overall record of 6-10. Their last two games in the month of March are on the road against Rollins and Lynn.
The Bucs will be back at it on Apr. 3 against Tampa at home who appeared in the SSC semifinal game, they concluded with a conference record of 4-3. Afterwards, they'll be back on the road once again to take on Florida Tech on Apr. 7 with the time to be determined.
On Apr. 10 and 14 they step back onto Buccaneer Field for home games that'll consist of matchups against Embry-Riddle (FL) and Nova Southeastern. The Bucs will play one final game on the road versus Saint Leo on Apr. 17.
They'll close out the 2027 regular season with a home game with quite a challenge ahead of them hosting the reigning 2026 National Champions in Florida Southern on Apr. 20, the Mocs were perfect in conference play last season recording an undefeated record of 7-0.
The SSC conference tournament runs Apr. 24 – May 1, with the quarterfinals on Apr. 24, semifinals on Apr. 28, and the championships on May 1.
