ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- The Barry Men's golf team finished their first tournament of the fall season at the Jay Jennison Cup, placing 4th among the 18 teams in the field. The Bucs were -6 and shot for a 858 total (284-296-278--858), with their best round coming at the end as they shot 10-under.
Anthony Amoroso led the way in his Buccaneer debut, moving up nine spots in the final round to finish tied for third place.
BUCCANEER HIGHLIGHTS:
Anthony Amoroso (-6) (71-72-67--210) T-3rd Place
- One of two Bucs to finish under par.
- Tied for sixth on par 3s with -1
- Tied for ninth on par 4s by breaking even
- His best round came on the final 18, going 5-under with six birdies.
- Totaled 38 pars and 11 birdies for the tournament.
Eduardo Matarazzo (-4) (67-71-74--212) T-10th Place
- The second Buc to finish under par and in the top-10
- Tied sixth in par 3s at -1
- Totaled 36 pars and 11 birdies
- Best round was the first 18-holes shooting 5-under.
- Made his collegiate debut
Brett Jones (+3) (75-77-67--219) T-35th Place
- The only player on the team with an eagle, one of five for the tournament
- Totaled 31 pars and eight birdies
- Finished strong with a score of 67 in round three totaling three birdies, an eagle, and no bogeys.
Daniel Vanososte (+3) (71-76-72--225) T-35th Place
- Tied seventh in par 5s wih a -7
- Totaled 32 pars and 10 birdies
- Started off strong shooting one-under and came back from a +4 in the second round to finish even in round three.
Ismael Garcia (+9) (75-78-72--225) T-72nd Place
- Totaled 35 pars and 7 birdies
- Finished the tournament on a high note going even.
- Made his Buccaneer debut

- Finished 4th as a team, over no. 18 NSU and no. 26 PBA.
