ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. -- The third-ranked and second-seeded Barry Buccaneers rallied to take four singles matches on their way to a 4-1 win over Ouachita Baptist, the 36th-ranked, 15th seed at Sanlando Park on Tuesday to advance to the national quarterfinals.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The teams split the first two doubles matches to finish. Barry's Felline and Riedel knocked off Lagger and Buss 6-2 at #2 doubles, but the Tigers took #3 as Aebi and Osmand defeated Trione and Kodjoed 6-3.
- At the top flight, Barry' Lynch and Machado rallied to force a tie-breaker, but OBU's 10th-ranked team of Exner and Strassman came back to win 7-6(7).
- Singles started strong for the Bucs, as they won five of six first sets.
- Meshulam made short work of Aebi 6-3, 6-0 at #5 to even the match.
- Lynch put the Bucs ahead with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Buss at the foourth flight.
- Felline pulled a shocker, upsetting top-ranked Exner at #1 singles, 6-3, 6-1.
- Machado put the nail in the coffin of the Tigers, beating Osmond 6-3, 6-4 at #6.
NOTEWORTHY:
- Barry has won seven national championships, and have played for the title seven other times. The 14 trips to the championship match are the most in Division II history.
- Lynch improved to 12-0 on the season, the best record on the team.
- The Bucs advanced to the quarterfinals for the 19th time, and the first time since 2023.
- The win was the Bucs' 106th in NCAA post-season play, the most for any school in the division (West Florida is second with 75).
