HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. -- The Barry Buccaneers bowed out of the NCAA Division II South/Southeast men's golf regional at Mission Inn Resort-El Campeon course on Saturday. The Bucs carded a +9 (297) to stay in 16th place.
North Georgia ran away with the team title, shooting below par all three days, including a staggering -15 in the second round and -10 on Saturday. North Georgia's Jack Vajda won a playoff for the individual medal with Wingate's Brandon Skidmore after both finished -10 for the tournament.
BUCCANEER HIGHLIGHTS:
Brett Jones (-5) (72-69-70--211) T-7th Place
- Shot even par on the par-3 holes
- Shot -6 on par-5 holes, tied for 13th
- Tied for the team lead with 12 birdies
- Totaled 35 pars, which led the team
- It was his second top-10 finish of the season
Aydan Downer (+10) (78-71-77--226) T-75th Place
- Tied for the team lead with 12 birdies
- Totaled 33 pars, which led the team, eight birdies, and one lone Eagle.
Ethan Gough (+12) (78-73-77--228) T-85th Place
- 32 pars and seven birdies.
Giorgio Celani (+13) (75-76-78--229) T-88th Place
Guilherme Ziccardi (na) (73) 107th Place
- Subbed into the lineup for the Bucs on the final round
- Ranked tied for 10th in the field in par-3 scoring to lead the Bucs in the round
- Also led the team in par-4 scoring
- Had 10 pars and four birdies
