Women’s Tennis Take Down Florida Southern In The First Round

The Bucs gets the upperhand on the Mocs with a 4-1 victory!

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.--  The top-ranked Barry Buccaneers rallied from a 1-0 hole after doubles to knock off the 16th-ranked Florida Southern Moccasins in singles 4-1 at the Mitch Gornto Tennis Center on Saturday in the semifinals of the Sunshine State Conference Tournament.

  • The Mocs clinched the doubles point as Annika Berrendorf and Jolie MIller defeated Dinara Alloiarova and Alina Michalitsch 6-3 at #3.
  • Barry responded with authority in singles play. Di Palma quickly tied the match by taking down Ronja Scheuermann 6-2, 6-2 on Court #3.
  • Crespo pushed the Buccaneers ahead, delivering a 6-4, 6-2 win over Emily Jennewein on Court #6.
  • Viktoriia Dema extended Barry's lead with a confident 6-1, 6-3 victory over Beatriz Costa on Court #2.
  • Dinara Alloiarova clinched the team victory for Barry, outpacing Berrendorf 6-4, 6-1 on Court #4.

ON THE HORIZON

The Bucs will take on third-ranked and third-seeded Nova Southeastern, who avenged an earlier defeat to Embry-Riddle with a 4-0 win, in the championship match on Sunday.
