MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Barry Buccaneers place the maximum of four on the Men's Swimming Academic All-District teams this season. Milosz Mencel, Roland Nagy, David Szlobodnyik, and Robin Tatar were all recognized for their outstanding work in the classroom.
Mencel*, a junior from Wroclaw, Poland, carries a 3.843 GPA in psychology. He qualified for three events at the NCAA Championships, earning Second-Team All-America as part of the 800M free style relay team. He placed third in the 200 free at the Sunshine State Conference Championship and took first place in the 100 free at three different meets.
Nagy*, a sophomore from Gyula, Hungary, has a 3.957 GPA in international business. A four-time All-American, he picked up three awards at the NCAA Championships, including a First-Team award in the 200 back stroke and Second-Team awards in the 100 back and as part of the 800 free relay.
Szlobodnyik, a senior from Dunaujvaros, Hungary, carries a 3.684 GPA on management. He set program records in the 100 and 200 butterfly at the SSC Championship.
Tatar, a junior from Tallinn, Estonia, maintains a 3.60 GPA in finance. He swam personal bests in the 100 and 200 fly and 200 free at the SSC Championships.
The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Men's Swimming teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
The CSC Academic All-District® teams require players to maintain at least a 3.5 GPA as both a undergraduate and graduate student, as well as competing in at least five competitions or finishing top eight at a conference meet.
Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot.
Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists, denoted with an asterisk*, advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced April 23, 2025.
The Division II CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Divisions II Academic All-America® programs.
