Barry Swimming Names Two Second Team All-Americans At NCAA Championships

INDIANAPOLIS, In. -- The Barry Buccaneers had two swimmers set program highlights on Friday at the NCAA Division II Swimming Championships at the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis. 

Day 3 Highlights
  • 100 Backstroke
    • Roland Nagy 47.86 (Prelims): 48.19 (14th Place, 3 Points, New Personal Best AND New Program Record.)
    • 100 Breast
      • Diana Suprun: 1:02.38 (Prelims), 1:02.00 (13th Place, 4 Points, New Personal Best AND New Program Record.)
    • All-Americans
      • The Buccaneers set history with two more Second-Team All-Americans in their program history as Roland Nagy (100 Back) and Diana Suprun (100 Breast) finished in 13th and 14th place respectively in the third night of the NCAA Division II championship.
      • Those who place 9th-16th are named to the Second Team.
      • Diana Suprun has the honor of becoming the first individual female All-American in Barry Buccaneer history for swim, while Nagy becomes the first repeat individual winner.

    • UPCOMING:
    • Barry will continue with the final day of the national championship on Saturday, March 15 with Mencel, Nagy, and Suprun competing in the 100 Free, 200 Back, and 200 Breast respectively.
