MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – Barry softball split a double header from Buccaneer Field on Saturday, beating Caldwell and falling to no. 21 Kutztown.

HOW IT HAPPENED (Caldwell):
- B1 | Barry did as they do best, scoring first and in the first inning. Mya Tucker took advantage of an error to start the game aboard. She then used her wheels to move into scoring position. Sarah Langlie drove in her 30th RBI of the season with a single through the right side that brought home Tucker. Caroline Figueroa that sent one over the left center field fence to bring home Langlie to cap off a three-run first. | Barry 3, Caldwell 0
- B4 | Sofia Chamorro singled through the left side to get the inning started. Mia Lucey came In to pinch run for her. Becka Mellor doubled down the right field line and out two runners in scoring position. Tucker delivered the sacrifice fly that brought home Lucey. Harper buns then doubled to left center to bring in the second run of the inning as Mellor and her traded places. | Barry 5, Caldwell 0
- T5 | Caldwell go their lone run with a base hit that came around to score on a single up the middle. | Barry 5, Caldwell 1
- B6 | The Bucs tacked on another run with Tucker drawing a leadoff walk in four straight pitches. She then stole second and like the first inning was brought home in an RBI single from Langlie. | Barry 6, Caldwell 1
NOTEWORTHY (Caldwell):
- Langlie has the first 30-RBI season since 2018 (Madison VonHagel, 39).
- Figueroa hit her third long ball of the season, eight overall as a Buccaneer.
- Langlie and Figueroa teamed up to both get two hits and bring in two-RBI.
- It is Langlie's 10th multi-hit game. Figueroa's eighth.
- Sarah Langlie extends her hit streak to 12 and on base streak to 20. The first time since 2022 some has reached 20 games straight (Maggie Wheless).
- Alexis Martine picked up the win with five innings thrown. She gave up five hits, allowed one earned run, walked three and struck out two.
- Isabel Vera threw two shutout innings in relief allowing just one base runner via a hit by pitch.
HOW IT HAPPENED (Game Two):
- T1 | The first two batters reached base for the Bears with an infield single and walk. A sacrifice fly brought in the first run of the contest. | Barry 0, Kutztown 1
- T2 | Kutztown added on to their lead with three in the top of the second. An error brought home the first run and a ground out delivered the second. | Barry 0, Kutztown 4
- B2 | Caroline Figueroa started the inning with a four-pitch walk. Brooklyn Rushton then proceeded to reach on a bunt single. With two runners aboard, Chamorro singled through the left side and brought in a run. Paige White followed suit with another single to bring it within two. | Barry 2, Kutztown 4
- T3 | The Bears earned back one of the runs with an RBI-double in the top of the third. | Barry 2, Kutztown 5
- T5 | The final insurance run came through in the top of the fifth with a one out RBI-single. | Barry 2, Kutztown 6
NOTEWORTHY (Kutztown):
- Both Sofia Chamorro and Brooklyn Rushton collected their 100th career hit as a Buccaneer in this game.
- Chamorro was the lone but to collect two hits, it is her sixth time this year.
- Haelee Angelico absorbed the loss throwing four innings giving up three earned runs on five hits while walking three.
- Both teams collected six hits, three of which came with runners on.
- The Bears stranded five base runners while the Bucs stranded four.
