Women’s Tennis Wins Against Eckerd In The Rain

Rain was unable to put out the Buccaneers fiery spirit

MIAMI SHORES, Fla.--  The third-ranked Barry Buccaneers continued their regular season with their a win of the season against the Eckerd Tritons on Saturday evening at the Buccaneer Tennis Center. Rain delayed most of the game after the doubles match, the teams decided to play until one team clinches victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The Buccaneers dominated in doubles play, sweeping all three matches. They opened with a 6-1 win on Court #2 against Kylie Misdorp and Maya Soligo, followed by another 6-1 victory over the duo of Catherine Cole and Olivia Lindestaf. The final doubles match was a little tougher, as the Bucs had a 6-4 victory on Court #3.
  • Ailen Crespo triumphed over Maialen Idiakez on Court #4, with both sets ending 6-0 in favor of Crespo.
  • #31 Angela Leweurs dominated her match on Court #3, sweeping Fiona Orza 6-0, 6-0
  • On Court #2, Dinara Alloiarova obtained her eleventh win of the season against Kylie Misdorp with a 6-2, 6-1 straight set sweep clinching victory for the Bucs.
  • Singles #1 and #5 were left unfinished and singles #6 did not start, both teams decided to play until one side clinches, the weather factored into this decision.

ON THE HORIZON

The Bucs stay home to take on Embry-Riddle on March 30, the match begins at 10am at the Buccaneer Tennis Center.
